Sónia Frias has a PhD in Social Sciences, specialising in Anthropology, from ISCSP-UL. She is an Assistant Professor at the same institution and a researcher at the Centre for Studies on Africa and Development (CEsA-ISEG/ULisboa). She is also President of the African Commission of the Lisbon Geographical Society
Her areas of interest are: Anthropology of development; Gender and development; Populations and development; Rural-urban links in Africa. Urban transition in Africa.
